Lydia is originally from Ktaqmkuk (known as Newfoundland) but has lived in Enmiktaqamu’k (known as mainland Nova Scotia) for most of their life. They graduated from NSCC in 2015 and since then worked as a medical secretary, providing clerical support for Nova Scotia Health.
As an openly queer Mi’kmaw person, Lydia has a strong and personal belief in social justice advocacy, and applies an Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, Reconciliation, Accessibility (EDIRA) lens to all factors of the workplace. Lydia enjoys relaxing through writing and drawing, with a particular interest in the fantasy genre.
