Pain Reprocessing Therapy Workshop

This workshop is an introduction to the technique of Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT), a therapeutic approach that has shown promise in the management of chronic pain. At the core of PRT is a technique called somatic tracking that involves teaching clients to practice mindfulness, reexamine the way they think about pain, and do everything they can to view pain in a more positive and less fearful light.

Participants of the workshop will have an opportunity to learn and practice the skill of somatic tracking and learn when and how to introduce the technique of PRT into clinical practice while addressing common barriers to the implementation of this technique.

Facilitators:

  • Dr. Maureen Allen (Emergency Room and Palliative Care Physician)
  • Dr. Daniel Stojanovic (General practitioner with a specialty in chronic pain)
