Dr. Reza Mehrpooya is a practicing family physician and assistant professor at Dalhousie University’s Department of Anesthesia & Pain Management. He has several clinical experiences working in addiction and pain medicine; he practices at the Pain & Addictions Albro Lake clinic (PAAL), the Pain Management Unit at the QEII Health Sciences Centre, the Opioid Recovery Program, and Withdrawal Management Unit. He also volunteers, supervising medical residents for in-patient Addictions Medicine Consult Service (AMCS). Dr. Mehrpooya is a lifelong learner who constantly seeks ways to enhance his practice. As such, he has gained board certification in occupational medicine, certification in musculoskeletal ultrasound (CRUS), and psychotherapy (UofT). He is currently working to explore the use of ketamine injections to manage substance use disorder.
