Dr. Sara Davidson is Medical Director of River Stone Recovery Centre, an innovative addiction medicine program, and a family physician at Fredericton Downtown Community Health Centre. Her experience working with that city’s vulnerable and unhoused populations prepared her for her position at FDCHC, which serves the downtown Fredericton population, including those without housing. Multiple factors affecting chronic pain, substance use disorder, and mental health issues present among patients of these clinics demonstrate the need for a robust, interconnected, and responsive approach to managing care. She is also a tireless advocate for solutions to the housing crisis, poverty reduction, and system change needed to address the social determinants of health.
