Lynn Miller

NP-Northern Zone Mentor

Lynn Miller is a Nurse Practitioner has extensive experience working in rural and remote primary care settings and is currently working in the Urgent Treatment Centre in North Cumberland Memorial Hospital in Pugwash as well as providing virtual health care. She has a specific interest in supporting patients with chronic pain and substance misuse disorders. Lynn has been a member of the AMN since returning home from Labrador in 2008, serving as a member of the Advisory Board as well as in the role of mentor. She is also a faculty member with the Effective Prescribing of Opioids for Chronic Pain program. She has previous experience as a researcher and policy consultant with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing. She holds a Master of Nursing: NP from Athabasca University, a Graduate Diploma in Adult Health Education from Memorial University and a Doctor of Nursing Practice degree from The George Washington University. She also holds a Fellowship in Regulatory Excellence from the National Council of State Boards of Nursing in the US where she researched the regulatory implications of treatment agreements for nurse practitioners. In her spare time, she golfs and runs half-marathons!
